This is Dave being proud of me…

He’s officially into bird hunting. I don’t get it. I really don’t. It’s so bizarre to me. But he enjoys it, so hunt baby hunt.
Every now and again, I find myself stopping and thinking, “Wow. I am incredibly fortunate to be married to this man.” He’s just so perfect for me. Today I found some proof as to why he’s so great.
It all began this morning. I was in the bathroom getting ready for the day when I shouted, “Babe, I’m sending you a message in my mind, do you know what it is?” (Sounds weird, but whatever. It’s not a regular thing.) He replied, “Ok, I’ll bring you some coffee.” Which is exactly what I was hoping he’d do.
Then there was some of this:
And some of this:
Then he got out our food processor which was a wedding gift almost one year ago and figured the thing out. (The 50 minute DVD was enough to scare me away). He made basil pesto with fresh basil from our garden. The results were amazing.
Next, he proceeded to make salsa with our overwhelming amount of tomatos, also from our garden.
Finally, he made me dinner. “I was just thinking, why not take the chicken breast, butterfly cut it and stuff it with parmesan cheese and asparagus.”
Yeah, I feel pretty lucky.
After this, I’ve been busy doing all the things I was too busy to do before.
Saturday, after class, Dave and I went to wedding #3 this summer.
I found an opportune place for a photo…

I know, I know. This dress again! But it does look better with a little tan. This poor pale girl!
Here’s the boys…

I got Dave to spin me around on the dance floor for a bit…

The bride has two great danes and they stopped by to visit during the dance. Here’s one of them…

Here’s a candid my husband took…

I’m not sure if I’ve ever told you this, but when I married my husband, I got lucky. Like, really lucky. Yeah, yeah, everybody should says that.
One big reason: He’s inspiring.
One tiny example: Today he biked 72 miles. Just cause.
So the situation is that he works 36 miles from home (undesirable, sure). It usually takes about an hour each way (driving) but he usually gets to work from home two days a week so that sort of makes up for it. Well since it’s the Twin Cities Bike Walk Week, why not just bike to work one day this week?
So, he woke up at 4:30 am and 2.5 hours later, he made it to work.
Then he proceeded to work a normal 8 hour day.
Next, hopped back on his bike and made it back home 3 minutes slower.
He said the last ten miles were really difficult. He had a good wind at his back and got going fast at first. He used a lot of his energy right away and got pretty tired.
He was home by 7:15 so we went to get a beer to celebrate. His goal is to get 100 miles. The difference will be doing it all at once rather than breaking it up with an 8 hour work day I guess.
It’s inspiring to me to think, huh, what’s a personal goal I want to accomplish?
We went to my parents’ cabin and Dave got to try out Bryce’s Mickey Mouse fishing pole/help the little man figure things out. So cute.

Check out baby girl’s bikini! I could hold little miss sweet thing all day.

My brother can keep the babies coming. (Dave’s brother can too.)
